So, what is quality of life? How do we define genuine caring?

As human beings, we are inclined to pay more attention to the negative rather than the positive, to see the limitations rather than the possibilities. Our language and our societal perceptions reinforce the view that aging and/or living with physical, developmental, intellectual, or psychological challenges equals decline or disability.

Well-being, as a frame of reference, requires us to focus on the strengths, possibilities, dreams, and goals of each individual. Doing so, we define quality of life in terms of what each individual can do and what they have to offer their communities.

Well-being is the path to a life worth living. It is the ultimate outcome of a human life. It leads us to ask the following questions:

What are the components of well-being? What do we need to experience contentment?

This webinar identifies and defines the Eden Alternative seven primary Domains of Well-being: identity, growth, autonomy, security, connectedness, meaning, and joy.  During this session you will to how to implement the Eden Alternative Domains of Well-Being in your organization and how to identify areas for change or improvements.

Learning Objectives:

  • 1.     Understand and identify the components Eden Alternative Seven Domains of Well-Being.
  • 2.     Implement practices that support an environment of Well-Being for all members of the Long Term Care community.
  • 3.     Share information about the elements of the Domains of Well-Being with others.
